More Strikes to Affect Travel Planned in France Beginning 28APR

A new round of strikes is coming in France as workers respond to the country’s recent changes to the pension system, according to Connexion France. Unions are calling for major action on 28APR and 01MAY. In particular, “exceptional mobilisation” is expected on 01MAY as International Worker’s Day is a bank holiday in France.

Air and rail authorities say they do not yet expect major travel disruptions over the weekend. However, it is possible that more airline, airport, and rail workers may join upcoming job action as they have previously. Cross-channel ferries are predicted to be affected by the strike. Garbage collectors in Paris remain on strike, and the city’s streets are filled with uncollected garbage.
