MSC Cruises’ Private Island Gets $100M Expansion in Bahamas

MSC Cruises is investing USD $100 million to expand its private destination, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, in the Bahamas, reports Cruise Radio.

The development includes adding guest amenities, staff accommodations, a marine conservation center, and a third solar farm in alignment with MSC's zero greenhouse emissions goal. The resort will now accommodate 280 employees, and the conservation center aims to educate about marine ecosystems.

The initiative supports the Bahamas by generating economic benefits, providing local employment, and pledging support for seafarer training. The expanded offerings, including food and beverage options, diving centers, and island tours, will be available during the 2023-2024 winter sailing season.
