Ocean Cruises Make a Comeback New Orleans; 285 Ship Calls Scheduled for 2022

With the arrival of Norwegian Breakaway on 21NOV, ocean-going cruise operatins at the port of New Orleans continue to take off. After shutting down due to the pandemic, Port NOLA welcomed the return of river cruise ships in MAR 2021, and the arrival of Carnival Cruise Line in SEP 2021 marked the resumption of ocean-going cruises. This month’s Norwegian Cruise Line ships will be followed by the return of Disney Cruise Line ships in FEB 2022, and Port NOLA is expecting 285 sailings next year, totalling nearly 1 million passengers.
