Online Searches for Travel to the U.S. Spike as Border Reopening Looms

According to travel website Kayak, searches related to international travel to the U.S. spiked by 48 per cent on 16OCT compared to one week earlier. Separately, Expedia said that there was a 28 per cent increase in UK travelers and a 24 per cent increase in French travelers searching for hotels in the United States, comparing 8-10OCT to 15-17OCT. This boost in interest follows the White House’s announcement on 15OCT that it would lift COVID-19 travel restrictions for fully vaccinated international visitors starting 08NOV.
