Ottawa plays down British Travel Advisory that says terror attack attempt in Canada is ‘very likely’

The British government has issued a travel advisory warning that there is a high likelihood of a terrorist attack in Canada, reports Globe and Mail.

The advisory states that terrorists are "very likely" to attempt attacks against the country and that these attacks could be indiscriminate.

Canadian authorities have downplayed the advisory, stating that the terror threat level is currently at medium. Speaking in the House of Commons, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau praised Canadian security agencies and their efforts to reassess the threat levels to Canadians. The United Kingdom has similarly listed several other countries, including the United States and several European nations, as "very likely" to experience terrorism.
