Record-Breaking Demand Expected for Peak Summer Travel Season: IATA

The upcoming peak summer travel season is anticipated to witness unprecedented levels of demand, according to a recent report by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

It reports that first quarter forward bookings data for MAY – SEPT is tracking 35 per cent above 2022 levels.

The survey, covering 4,700 travellers in 11 countries, revealed that 79 per cent of passengers expressed intentions to travel during the JUN – AUG 2023 period. While a total of 85 per cent of participants said that peak travel season disruptions wouldn’t be a surprise, 80 per cent said they expected smooth travel with post-pandemic issues having been resolved.
