For guests sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas in JUL, the cruise line “strongly recommends” that guests 16 and older be fully vaccinated. Guests who are will be asked to provide documentation to prove their vaccination status, and those who cannot provide such “will be considered unvaccinated.” Royal Caribbean has announced that unvaccinated guests will have to “undergo additional COVID-19 testing at their own expense,” and testing costs USD $136. Royal Caribbean will cover testing costs for children not yet eligible for vaccinations. Face masks will be required for all passengers “indoors unless seated and actively eating or drinking.” However, masks are not required for vaccinated passengers “when in venues (bars, lounges, restaurants, and entertainment) or at events designated for vaccinated guests only.”
