Small Cruises on the Mississippi Are Booming

American river cruise companies are back in business, albeit at reduced capacity to comply with CDC pax limits, as well as vaccine requirements. Two of American Queen’s ships have been operating since mid-MAR and if the CDC allows it, the company hopes to a third by MAY. Business has been booming, with numbers running ahead of 2019 levels and significant upticks in JAN, on the heels of the U.S. vaccine rollout, and again in FEB, when it announced a requirement that guests, crew, and even bus drivers be vaccinated for sailings, starting in JUL.
