Stats: Long-Distance Travellers Planning Expensive Trips for 2022

A new survey from Rakuten Advertising showed that respondents expect to spend on average USD $1,000 on travel this holiday season and only one in five travellers plan to spend less on travel this year than in 2019. Travellers who were planning long-distance vacations (160 km or more) are more likely to book expensive vacations (more than USD $2,000) beginning in JAN 2022. Of those long-distance travellers who are “strongly considering” a 2022 vacation, 23 per cent are planning on spending up to USD $5,000 on their travel plans. The survey collected responses from 1,000 Americans.
