Thailand Maps Out Four-Phase Reopening Plan

Thailand is gearing up to reopen with a four-phase plan set to run from OCT 2021 through JAN 2022, according to the country’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA). The pilot phase, from 01-31OCT, will fully reopen four popular beach resorts: Phuket, and parts of Surat Thani, Krabi and Phang Nga, including two new designated areas of Krabi, Khlong Muang and Thap Khaek. Phase two, from 01-31NOV, will see 10 other destinations fully opened, including Bangkok, Krabi and Phang-Nga, among others. The third phase, from 01-31DEC, is set to reopen 20 more provinces which are tourism-driven, well-known for art and culture, or border destinations. The fourth phase, beginning 01JAN 2022 will see the reopening of 13 border provinces.
