The Bahamas Is Seeing “Explosive” Visitor Growth

The Bahamas is experiencing a significant surge in tourism, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, reports Caribbean Journal.

From JAN to JUL 2023, the country welcomed over 5.89 million visitors, exceeding projections. The Bahamas is on track to surpass 8 million visitors by the end of the year, combining air and sea arrivals.

The tourism industry also sees increased spending, with major hotels in Nassau and Paradise Island reporting higher occupancy rates and increased revenues. The United States remains the largest market for visitors, followed by Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. The Bahamas is focused on further developing its tourism infrastructure to sustain this growth.
