The New Paris Métro Is Coming, And It’s A Very Big Deal

The Grand Paris Express (GPE) has emerged in the City of Light, marking the largest civil engineering project in Europe, reports Forbes.

With over 120 miles of tracks, four new underground lines, and 68 metro stations, GPE seeks to connect Paris suburbs, supporting economic growth and reducing reliance on cars.

Despite delays and cost overruns, the project, set for completion by 2030, earned the 2023 Veronica Rudge Green Prize for Urban Design. Paris, hosting the 2024 Olympics, faces pressure to meet deadlines.
