On 12OCT, the U.S. announced it will reopen its land borders with Canada and Mexico, but the lifting of restrictions also brings new questions as to how it will be implemented. Once the U.S. reopens to fully vaccinated foreign visitors in NOV, negative COVID-19 tests will be required for those entering by air, but not by land. The CDC will also direct airlines to collect contact tracing information, but further details on this system have not been outlined. For children and others who cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons, the White House has not yet commented on what exceptions will be made, but the New York Times believes it is likely that it will shortly.
