The U.S., Which Has a Low Testing Record, Considering Stricter COVID-19 Testing for Everyone Entering the Country

U.S. government officials are considering requiring everyone entering the U.S. to be tested for COVID-19 the day before their flight and having all travellers, including U.S. citizens, to be tested again before returning home, regardless of vaccination status. While no final decisions have been made, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed that the agency is working to revise testing requirements for travellers due to the Omicron variant. "A revised order would shorten the timeline for required testing for all international air travellers to one day before departure to the United States," a CDC spokesman said.
