Tourism to Russia Drops to 4% of Pre-Pandemic Levels Following Invasion of Ukraine

Foreign tourism to Russia has fallen to just 4 per cent of its pre-pandemic levels as the country faces international condemnation over its invasion of Ukraine, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) has said.

As reported by Breaking Travel News, only 200,100 tourists traveled to Russia in 2022, a 96.1 per cent decrease from the 5.1 million tourists in 2019. The 2022 figures were also down compared to 288,300 visits in 2021 and from 335,800 in 2020.
