Tourism Vancouver Rebrands as “Destination Vancouver,” Shares New Plan For Promotion, Development

On 25JUN, Vancouver’s tourism association announced a new name and expanded mandate as “Destination Vancouver.” During Tourism Vancouver’s 118th annual general meeting, president and CEO Royce Chwin announced the change, saying: “As outlined in our 2021 ‘Business Sprint,’ our goal has been to build a stronger, more resilient tourism industry, that represents a ‘triple bottom line’ which takes into account the needs of people and the planet, while still remaining profitable.” The new mandate will see Destination Vancouver build on destination competitiveness, managed growth and social responsibility. It will also continue to advocate for its members, and support policy, planning, and capacity-building efforts for the city of Vancouver. Initiatives will focus on sustainability, resilience, diversity, equite, and inclusion.
