Air Traffic Controllers and NAV Canada Reach Tentative Labour Agreement

The Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA-Unifor Local 5454) reached a tentative five-year agreement with NAV Canada in Ottawa in JUN, reports Unifor.

Negotiations began in DEC, but given the state of the airline industry and the past of the post-pandemic recovery, the bargaining committee was eager to secure a new contract before the busy summer travel season. The 1,900 CATCA members provide air traffic control services for domestic and international flights within and outside of Canada.

The tentative contract is retroactive from 01APR, 2023, and will expire 31MAR, 2028, and secures another piece of the labour puzzle for the air industry in Canada.
