UK’s On the Beach Claims Ryanair Blocks OTAs from Booking and Rejects Credit Cards

On the Beach, an online travel agency (OTA), is challenging budget airlines like Ryanair for restricting OTAs' access to fare information, reports Travel Weekly UK.

The company has released a white paper highlighting support from 3,000 UK consumers who back its call for regulators to halt the "aggressive tactics" employed by some budget airlines to limit competition.

The white paper demands a full market review, mandatory sharing of flight details with OTAs, and a mutual Code of Conduct for both parties.

The study reveals 70% of consumers oppose airlines restricting OTA access. On the Beach alleges Ryanair is purposefully blocking OTA bookings and is currently suing them over Covid-related refunds.
