United Claims Delta Is Raising Airfares To Sabotage Sales

United Airlines is accusing Delta Air Lines of raising ticket prices with the intention of sabotaging sales, allowing Delta to report a lack of demand on routes between PDX and HND to the Department of Transportation, reports Simple Flying.

United is requesting that the Department of Transportation reject Delta Air Lines’ request for gateway flexibility on its routes, citing that slots granted at Haneda are a product of long and difficult negotiations with the Japanese government and should not be taken lightly.

Delta is currently selling tickets on its PDX-HND route for more than $10,000.
