Vaccinated Canadians Have More Travel Insurance Options

As travel restarts during COVID-19, the insurance industry has adapted to provide Canadians with insurance options when travelling abroad. New reports from CTV News indicate that companies are now offering travel insurance policies specifically designed around COVID-19 to include coverage for medical expenses such as quarantining following a positive test. According to Martin Firestone, president of Toronto-based Travel Secure Inc., new policies mostly treat the COVID virus much like other unexpected medical emergencies. At the same time, Firestone also indicates that coverage costs and levels depend on the traveller’s vaccination status.
