In a recent update from the British government, fully vaccinated visitors to the U.K. from “low-risk” countries will no longer have to take expensive PCR COVID-19 tests as of 24OCT. Instead, fully vaccinated visitors and most of those under the age of 18 from countries not on the U.K.’s “red list” can take a lateral flow test on or before day two of their arrival. “Taking away expensive mandatory PCR testing will boost the travel industry and is a major step forward in normalising international travel and encouraging people to book holidays with confidence,” Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps said in a statement. Canada is not on the U.K.’s red list for travel, meaning that Canadian visitors are eligible for entry.
