Vaccine Approval For Kids Expected To Have Big Impact For Cruise Industry, Holiday Sailings

With more than 28m children in the United States ages 5 to 11 now eligible to get the kids’ version of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, Cruise Critic reports that there is a more positive outlook for family cruises, perhaps even in time for holiday sailings. The kids’ vaccine is a critical milestone for families who have been waiting to take their children on a cruise. Children who get their first dose now, then a second shot three weeks afterwards, can be fully covered by Christmas, if not by spring break. "We have been anxiously awaiting the approval of vaccines for children under 12 so that we can welcome more families back on board, as we sail more children than any other cruise line in the U.S." says AnneMarie Mathews, a Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson.
