Visit Florida Numbers Reflect COVID's Toll

Visit Florida estimates the number of visitors in 2020 from Canada, the smallest segment tracked by Visit Florida, fell 64.5 per cent, to 1.3 million as compared to 2019. Out-of-state travellers to Florida fell to 86.7 million in 2020, a 34 per cent decline from 2019, while overseas visitation plunged 70.4 per cent. The pandemic-driven declines follow several robust years in which Florida attracted 118.4 million visitors in 2017, 127.1 million in 2018 and 131.4 million in 2019.
