The World Health Organization (WHO) has labelled the new Omicron variant as a “Variant of Concern.” “This variant has a large number of mutations, some of which are concerning,” the WHO said. “Preliminary evidence suggests an increased risk of reinfection with this variant.” The group also warned that it would take a few weeks for it to understand the impact of Omicron.
