Karryon spoke with Air New Zealand's GM Australia Kathryn O'Brien to talk about how and why the airline is embracing Open Mindset and mental wellbeing in the industry.
O'Brien stresses the importance of mental wellbeing in aviation, especially post-COVID. As the airline rebuilds with many newcomers, supporting their adjustment to the industry is vital. Challenges like supply chain disruptions and cultural shifts among travellers affect employee wellbeing.

They've also launched an Employee Assistance Programme, wellbeing check-ins, digital resources, and peer support networks, aiming for a culture where employees support one another and maintain psychological health.
