Air Canada Relaunches Direct Flights To Ireland
YYZ-DUB Service Restarted 01AUG

Air Canada Ireland

Air Canada has restarted three direct weekly flights to the Irish capital. Service resumed 01AUG between YYZ and DUB, onboard the airline’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The relaunch comes just two weeks after Ireland announced it would permit fully-vaccinated travellers to enter the country as of 19JUL.

Pax who are fully vaccinated will not be required to undergo any travel-related testing or quarantine. For those who do not have valid proof of vaccination, arrivals will need to:

  • Present evidence of a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours prior to arrival into Ireland
  • Self-quarantine
  • Undergo post-arrival testing - this will be provided through the Health Service Executive in Ireland.

More travel related information and up to date entry requirements can be found on the Irish Government website and the Northern Ireland Government website.

“We greatly look forward to sharing our world-famous ‘Céad Míle Fáilte – ‘one hundred thousand welcomes’ with those visiting friends, family and Canadian travellers once again, and with Air Canada resuming its direct flight from Toronto to Dublin, it is now that much easier for travellers to experience all that the island of Ireland has to offer,” said Sandra Moffatt, Manager, Tourism Ireland, Canada.

Ireland officials note the country has implemented strict health and safety protocols to ensure all businesses, including the hospitality sector, are able to re-open and operate safely. Wide open spaces, outdoor adventure experiences, luxurious getaways and self-catering accommodation options all make Ireland well suited to a post-pandemic trip.

Throughout the pandemic, Tourism Ireland has engaged with Canadians through its “Fill Your Heart with Ireland” initiative, showcasing the many traditional and new things to experience in the country when travel resumed.

In 2019, Ireland welcomed over 11 million visitors. Tourism Ireland’s international website is www.ireland.com.
