AmaWaterways Launches Third 'Seven River Journey' for Autumn 2023

AmaWaterways' Seven River Journey Through Europe
Seine Bike Tour

Due to popular demand, AmaWaterways has launched its third 'Seven River Journey Through Europe' for autumn 2023, which will take guests through 14 countries over 47 days, with a focus on exploring the regions' wine harvest and colorful fall foliage. The newest river cruise grand voyage will embark on 24AUG 2023 from Paris, France and will return on 09OCT 2023 to Giurgiu, Romania with prices starting at USD $37,439 per guest.

“Our Seven River Journeys have generated such an amazing response from our guests, and we are delighted to offer yet another opportunity for travelers to immerse themselves in the beautiful regions of Europe during one of my favorite times of year, the delightful autumn season,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways.

“From exploring fairytale castles and storybook villages enveloped in brilliant fall colors to enjoying seasonal wines and the autumn apple harvest, Seven River Journey – Autumn Edition takes place during the perfect time of year for guests to spend extended time in some of Europe’s most-sought after destinations.”

Guests will sail on three ships throughout the course of their journey: embarking from Paris on AmaLyra to sail along the Seine River, before transferring to AmaCerto in Amsterdam to experience sites along the Scheldt, Maas, Rhine, Main and Moselle rivers. Their journey concludes with two weeks on board AmaVerde sailing the full length of the Danube.

Here are the highlights of the newest Seven River Journey:

Days 1-6 (AmaLyra): France

Guests can cruise along the Normandy countryside between Paris and Le Havre just before the autumn apple harvest, admiring the views and discovering historic sites. A full-day excursion to the Pays d’Auge region of Normandy will deliver culinary treats ranging from apple cider to the French aperitif Pommeau, and a biking tour through the town of Les Andelys will provide views as the season begins to change.

Days 6-32 (AmaCerto): Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland

In the Netherlands, guests can stroll past traditional canals and house boats while tasting Dutch specialties. A visit to the medieval town of Bruges also includes plenty of hiking or biking opportunities through its vineyards. Exclusive to this journey, guests will be treated to a crémant-tasting in the French village of Obernai with its ancient market square and baroque 16th-century town hall.

Days 33-47 (AmaVerde): Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania

During the final leg of the journey, guests will be treated to exclusive experiences and tours including an Oktoberfest celebration with music and beer just for AmaWaterways guests, a walking tour in Dürnstein along its cobblestone streets and a visit to the Szekszárd wine region, one of the oldest red-wine-growing areas in Hungary.

Other features of the journey include hand-selected wines at every meal in multiple onboard venues, a Wellness Host offering a variety of activities and a wide variety of land excursions. It will also feature seamless transfers between the three ships, complimentary laundry and portage service, all gratuities on board and during shore excursions and a dedicated Cruise Manager that will personally guide guests throughout the entirety of their journey.
