American Cruise Line's newest ship, American Melody, debuted its inaugural season 03SEP 2021. The Labour Day weekend launch of the new ship also debuted the line's longest river cruise ever. The "Complete Mississippi River Cruise" takes guests on a 22-day journey.
Originally scheduled to operate from New Orleans, Louisiana to St. Paul, Minnesota Hurricane Ida forced a small itinerary change. Instead, guests embarked from Natchez, Mississippi. Onboard, guests experience pre-cruise nights on board, festive cocktail parties, Mississippi-inspired gourmet dinners, and special inaugural season gifts.
Through the end of DEC 2021, American Melody will also operate several of the line's 8-Day Upper Mississippi River cruises between St. Louis, Missouri, and St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as 8-Day Lower Mississippi River cruises including 8-Day New Orleans Roundtrip itineraries and holiday cruises for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
American Melody accommodates 175-passengers and represents the latest evolution in the company’s Modern Series. American Melody showcases a multi-level sky-lit atrium, large indoor and outdoor lounges, a dining room as well as a casual outdoor café, a fitness center, and a Skywalk on the top deck which features an ellipse cutout cantilevered over the ship’s 4th deck. American Melody also offers 100 per cent private-balcony staterooms, singles, and suites.
American Melody is the Line’s 2nd new modern riverboat this year and the 4th riverboat in ACL's growing Mississippi fleet. The Line launched American Jazz in MAR 2021 and has announced the names of 2 more modern riverboats coming in 2022: American Symphony & American Serenade. American Cruise Lines first introduced their Modern Series in 2018, with American Song. Since then, the line has expanded the series, introducing 6 of these new ships in 4 years.
