Air Transat Releases 2023/24 Winter Program for Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes

Air Transat has released details on its 2023-2024 winter flight program for travellers in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes.

At the peak of the season, Air Transat's overall program will include over 300 direct flights per week departing from eight Canadian cities.

Set to begin 01NOV 2023, the airline will offer more than 110 direct flights per week from YYZ, YOW, YXU and YHM at the peak of the season to over 20 destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America and Europe.

"The rise in our overall capacity for winter 2023-2024 also includes a major increase in the frequency of flights to South destinations, while enabling us to keep on strengthening our air network as we offer our Ontario customers even more flight options," said Michèle Barre, Air Transat's Chief Revenue Officer.

Compared to last year, over 20 additional flights will be scheduled departing from Ontario.

In particular, the company is strengthening its position serving the Dominican Republic. At the peak of the season, four additional direct flights will be offered each week between YYZ and PUJ, while one additional direct flight will be offered between YYZ and POP, as well as Toronto and AZS. One additional direct flight will connect YOW and YXU with PUJ.

Air Transat is also enhancing its Cuba offer with two additional flights departing from YYZ and CC and one additional flight to HOG, VRA and SNU.

The company continues to develop its Mexican market, with four additional flights departing from YYZ and CUN and two to PVR. One additional flight will depart from YOW and YXU to CUN.

Departing from YYZ, Air Transat will be serving six European destinations, for a total of 20 direct flights to Europe each week. The airline is boosting the frequency of its weekly service to FAO to two direct flights.

Quebec

Also beginning 01NOV 2023,Air Transat will offer more than 180 direct flights per week from YUL and YQB at the peak of the season to over 30 destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, the United States and Europe.

"We are following through on our strategy to expand our service to various French regions with Lyon and Marseille routes now operating throughout the winter, while flights to Nantes will continue until mid-January. The rise in our overall capacity for winter 2023-2024 also includes a major increase in the frequency of flights to South destinations, while enabling us to keep on strengthening our air network to offer our Quebec customers even more flight options," said Michèle Barre, Air Transat's Chief Revenue Officer.

Compared to last year, over 30 additional flights will be scheduled from YQB and YUL.

At the peak of the season, two additional direct flights will be offered each week between YUL and PUJ, while one additional direct flight will be offered between YQB and PUJ and between YQB and POP.

Air Transat is also enhancing its Cuba offer with two additional flights departing from YUL to CCC, three to HOG, two to VRA and one to SNU.

The company continues to develop its Mexican market, with one additional flight departing from YUL and one from YQB to CUN, as well as two additional flights from YUL to PVR.

Air Transat is also setting its sights on markets such as Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Saint Martin. Each week, one additional direct flight will be departing from YUL to CTG, LIR, SXM, SJC and SAL.

Departing from YUL, Air Transat will be offering direct flights to seven European destinations. In accordance with the strategy announced earlier this year, the airline is reducing the seasonal nature of its operations in Europe by offering year-round service to MRS and LYS and by extending its flights to NTE until mid-JAN 2024.

Air Transat will be significantly increasing its number of flights to Florida. Departing from YUL, seven additional flights per week will be added to FLL, with two additional flights to MCO.

Maritimes

At the peak of the season, Air Transat will offer more than 20 direct flights per week from YHZ and YQM to 10 destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and the United States.

"The rise in our overall capacity for winter 2023-2024 also includes a major increase in the frequency of flights to South destinations, while enabling us to keep on strengthening our air network as we offer our customers in the Maritimes even more flight options," said Michèle Barre, Air Transat's Chief Revenue Officer.

For the first time, Air Transat will be expanding its winter operations in the Maritimes by moving up the start date for certain routes to meet growing demand, particularly during the Holiday Season. In the past, these destinations were only available beginning in FEB. This year, 18DEC will be the start date for various flights departing from YHM (CUN, CCC, FLL, HOG, MCO, PUJ and VRA) and from YQM (CUN and PUJ).

This winter, more than 20 flights will be scheduled to 10 southern destinations each week.
