Collette’s “Icelandic Adventure” small group Explorations tour guides travellers across the island of untamed beauty, rich landscapes, and rich cultural heritage.
“A flight to Iceland only takes a few hours for travellers flying from North America’s East Coast,” said Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, chief executive officer at Collette. “Our ‘Icelandic Adventure’ journey is a great option for travellers who want to experience a new environment without spending too much time getting there. This tour guides them across numerous breathtaking areas, visiting lava fields, waterfalls, and glaciers. There aren’t many itineraries that feature such a diverse slate of natural landmarks.”
The 10-day itinerary was carefully designed for the lower maximum number of 24 travellers. For example, a whale watching expedition in Husavik features RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats), which hold just 12 passengers apiece, to bring Collette’s travellers closer to the water and to the whales. Other highlights include learning about the island’s agricultural history during a visit to Steinnes Horse Farm, climbing up the Langjökull glacier and then venturing through the world’s longest man-made ice tunnel aboard a “super truck,” and plenty of stops at various coastal shops and restaurants.
