PAL Airlines Lands at YOW; First Expansion Beyond Atlantic Canada

On 30JUL, PAL Airlines opened up east coast service between Ottawa-Gatineau and the Atlantic Canada airports of Moncton, Fredericton and St. John’s.

It marks a significant expansion for PAL The St. John’s, Newfoundland-based airline until now has been purely a regional carrier, with scheduled flight services to over two dozen destinations throughout Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick.

The new, Ottawa-Moncton-St.John’s service will operate Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday while the Ottawa-Fredericton-St.John’s service will operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Ottawa Airport Fire Service provided a water salute for the inaugural flight to Fredericton and St. John’s.

“PAL Airlines is excited to start our service to Ottawa, connecting our extensive network in Eastern and Atlantic Canada to the National Capital Region,” said Calvin Ash, President of PAL Airlines.

“We know from working closely with the communities we serve how strong the demand for travel to Ottawa is, and we look forward to working with the Ottawa International Airport and both of our national carrier interline partner airlines to facilitate connectivity and onward travel for our customers.”
