Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Wascally Wabbit!

We are entering a more refined era, dahrlings. According to the Chinese, The Year of The Rabbit should be rather more reasonable than the pugnacious Tiger. Placid, in fact. Which, of course, brings to mind flaccid. So far, I’m not impressed.

Never mind, as dear droopy Hef always says, bunnies serve a purpose. And perhaps a non-eventful year is a welcome thing. Although in this biz, that isn’t likely to happen.

Here are a few things we do know about what’s stewing in travel:

  • TCook is getting their name back, and presumably along with it, their mojo. Hundreds of Sears outlets across Canada doesn’t hurt. Especially when you are knee deep in the lucrative travel offshoots of insurance and finance.
  • itravel2000 has made a pile of money, again – I’m sure that isn’t going unnoticed.
  • WestJet is growing by leaps and puddle-hopping bounds. On Monday they spill the news of their next move. Be vewy, vewy quiet…
  • The Brits are gunning for a fight. Or is it the Germans?
  • And, travel agents? They just keep going, and going, and going.

When’s the Year of The Pumpkin?

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
