Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Did I Miss Canada Day?

I’ve been so excited about whooping the Yanks in 1812, I lost my senses. I regained some of them on July 3rd. The rest still have a headache.

Honestly, Pumpkins, if Canada Day had a name, I might not have missed it. Right now it says it’s a day. And it’s Canada. WOW! Took some real marketing muscle to come up with that, eh? Canada Day. Oh ya.

There’s a reason Americans did not call Independence Day “United States Day”. The movie would have sucked. It reminds them of why they took up arms and never let go. And, the government figured they don’t need to tell Americans it’s about the U.S.!! They know that! They live there, for Bushes sake.

Did someone think we would confuse Canada Day with, say, Kazakhstan Day? Duh, eh. Where are we?

As it is, Americans call July 1st Canada’s Independence Day. (Consumer Traveler explains that it’s the day in 1867 Canada gained independence from the U.K.) I guess the Yanks figure if we could whoop them, we’d have no trouble shooing away a few candy ass brits. Apparently not.

We could call it “Dependence Day”. Sort of like the U.S., but not.

How about “The day the best damn country in the world was created?”
