Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Sometimes I Forget I'm Supposed To Remember

I know I should have spent yesterday in a more solemn way, dahrlings. But my entire extraction into dysfamily function is a war casualty. So I prefer to forget.

Nonetheless, we must celebrate the brave and the selfless among us. They are still out there.

There's another group of remarkable men and women worth mentioning. Those who dedicate their life to keeping us safe from water bottles, creams and nail scissors. As I travelled through Pierre Elliot Trudeau yesterday, I witnessed the CATSA staff on some kind of pant strike.

I was cleared by a hodgepodge security team outfitted in brightly coloured camouflage pants, really bad fitting jeans and something which resembled clown bottoms. I can tell you I did not feel safe surrounded by these fashion crimes.

And will the real GDS please stand up? The top Open Jaw story today is about a study which reveals the ancient distribution system is alive and well. The 2nd story says that the airlines are the sure winners in the distribution battle. Reminds me of the time when studies about travel agent extinction ran next to research about travel agent resurrection.

The fact is, the number of agencies using a GDS fell to 72% this year from 90% in 2005. If I remember correctly, if any other business experienced those numbers, the CEO would be fired (or at least made to wear clown pants) and the product completely overhauled.
