The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies has announced that it has contracted the services of Awareness Communications Incorporated (ACI), a Toronto-based firm, and has named its President, Gary Ralph, as Director of Communications & Marketing for ACTA.
ACI has provided communications consulting, marketing services and media relations training to many major companies, associations and governments over the past 28 years throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Ralph founded ACI following his career as a journalist with major Canadian newspapers and in television. Recently, ACI has been involved in marketing, promoting and providing content to a number of international Internet projects as well as media relations work with major firms.
"We are pleased to be able to attract a company and individual with the experience and skills of ACI and Gary Ralph," said David McCaig, President and COO of ACTA. "This contract is part of our rejuvenated efforts to make our industry and the general public aware of the great value our members and associate members bring to travel by Canadians through their own country and globally." Mr. McCaig added, "With actions like this, we are working to make ACTA a much stronger voice for travel agents and an advocate for the travelling public."
Mr. Ralph will bring to ACTA skills including marketing and public relations planning, analysis, research, writing, and training in media relations for ACTA and member agencies.
"ACTA is an aggressive organization with a dynamic and committed leader in David McCaig," said Gary Ralph. "I'm gratified to be working in such an important industry with a group of travel professionals who really care about delivering quality to their customers."
