Canada Jetlines' inaugural flight on 16FEB to Las Vegas ushered in their first operations into the U.S. market and gave 'the Entertainment Capital of the World' a little more lift from Canada.

Open Jaw's Karen Dahdah attended the ribbon cutting celebration at YYZ's Terminal 3 with opening remarks by execs just before she boarded the flight for take-off to LAS.

"Canada Jetlines is very proud to have operated our first scheduled flight between Canada and the United States. Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and a very popular getaway destination with attractions, professional sports, gambling, and gastronomic delights,” said Canada Jetlines Chief Commercial Officer, Duncan Bureau following the inaugural flight.

“Canada Jetlines has built strong relationships with the Travel Agency community, and tourism boards in both Canada and Nevada. We are looking forward to offering our world class product to those that are traveling between Ontario and Nevada. The airline is looking forward to adding more markets and partners across North America, Mexico, and the Caribbean,” Bureau added.

“This occasion is noteworthy because of an increased offering that we give to passengers”, Julien Carron, GTAA said prior to take-off, “but it's also vital from an economic perspective for both Canada and the US as we grow our tourism between two nations.”

Carron added, “Jetlines has been a valued partner of ours since September of 2022 when they operated their first scheduled flight from Toronto to Calgary and this new route to Las Vegas is just the first of many destinations we hope to welcome them in the future.”

Canada Jetlines has announced its next international route is service to Cancun, Mexico, scheduled to begin operations in MAR.

As Open Jaw reported on 6FEB, Canada Jetlines was also approved by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) to operate scheduled service to Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba, Jamaica and Saint Lucia. With expansion to more US and International destinations to be added in the future, Jetlines is making its mark in the sky.
