The crowd inside
&Company Resto Bar
We all know how Vegas likes to party: lustrous
lights; roaring music; outrageous entertainment and collaborations with heavy
hitters like Air Canada Vacations. And they really
rocked the scene for a big trade group at their recent Las Vegas Trade
Expo held at Mississauga's &Company
Resto Bar.
Close to 150 travel agents were on hand to enjoy
the Vegas setup complete with a selection of
savoury treats,
tempting cocktails and charismatic music mixed on turntables by a DJ. I think
this is the 1
st travel industry
event I've been to that had 'proper' turntables.
I always viewed the Las Vegas CVA and ACV
lot to be quite lush... to party it up at an upscale level. And, with the considerably enhanced Air Canada rouge capacity
additions to Sin City, the Las Vegas CVB has partnered exclusively with ACV for
their big Montreal and Toronto trade events.
Amr Younes, V.P. Sales, Air Canada Vacations said, “Las Vegas has been an
important destination for ACV and with our new rouge capacity, we have been able to regain market presence that we weren't able to capitalize on over the
past few years."
To make up for that loss, Younes said the tour operator is placing a lot of
energy and focus on boosting its presence in America's
entertainment capital. It has added extra flight capacity for the summer and fall schedules
and is heavily involved in promoting its land packages in
and around Vegas.
They're also pushing
the Vegas experience enroute. One of the pilot projects ACV is testing on their
YUL-LAS route is having their rouge flight attendants offer the possibility to
purchase Cirque de Soleil show tickets inflight. Younes says ACV is expecting
to introduce this option onboard all of its LAS flights in the near future.
