NAV CANADA has reported air traffic figures for the month of DEC - and while much has been made of the spike - and chaos - of holiday travel at the end of 2022, NAV CANADA's numbers show we're still double digits behind per-pandemic performance.
The organization measures air traffic in units of air navigation services.
Air traffic clearly picked up over 2021 holiday season travel. In DEC, 2022, those units were higher on average by 13.2 percent compared to the same month in 2021.
However, as compared to the same month in 2019, just before COVID struck, DEC 2022 navigation service units were lower on average by 9.5 percent.
