Barbados Tourism Is Rebounding

According to the Barbados tourism board, arrivals to the country are beginning to rebound to pre-COVID-19 levels. More than 10,000 tourists arrived by air in JUL, the highest in any month in 2021 and up from 6,745 in JUL 2020. Visitors from the U.S. accounted for 43.3 per cent of the island’s tourism market in JUL 2021, while visitors from the U.K. accounted for 34.4 per cent. “Barbados has, and continues to weather this COVID-19 storm, but while this period has been difficult for the industry, the BTMI is so pleased to see the recent sprouts of positive growth,” said Craig Hinds, interim CEO of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.
