New Zealand to Reopen to Overseas Tourists in APR

New Zealand will welcome fully vaccinated international travellers in APR 2022 as part of the country’s newly announced reopening plan. According to COVID-19 response minister Chris Hipkins on 24AUG, the border will first open to vaccinated New Zealand residents and Australians on 16JAN 2022, then will reopen to vaccinated NZ residents coming from other countries on 13FEB 2022, then finally will reopen to fully vaccinated visitors from all other countries, except those deemed "high risk," on 30APR. "A phased approach to reconnecting with the world is the safest approach to ensure the risk is carefully managed," Hipkins said. "It reduces the potential impacts on vulnerable communities and the New Zealand health system."
