North Korea appears to be considering reopening its borders to a limited number of tourists for the first time since the pandemic, reports CNN.
Flights on Air Koryo, the national carrier of North Korea, recently resumed between Pyongyang, Beijing, and Vladivostok, signalling a potential wider reopening.
However, obtaining information from North Korean officials remains challenging, leaving tour companies needing guidance on when they can bring travellers back to the country.
Even if tourism restarts, COVID-19 restrictions and the U.S. ban on American travel to North Korea may still exist. Not to mention current high tensions between North Korea and the West.
