The UK is planning to digitize its borders by 2025, and will soon require all visitors to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), provide personal data and pay a currently undetermined fee.
As reported by Travel Research Online, the requirement is likely to come “sometime this quarter” for 2023 and the fee is likely to be between £5 and £20. Travellers will need to complete an online application form with contact information, biometric data and travel plans before receiving their ETA within 48 to 72 hours.
